This painting depicts the view from the summit of Mount McKinley (also known as Denali), the highest point in North America at an elevation of 20,320 feet. The foreground depicts the ridge Alex climbed to reach the summit, and the background shows other peaks in the Alaska Range emerging from storm clouds to the southwest. All proceeds from sales of Summit View prints were donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation during Alex?s fundraising drive. (Note: the detail on the left below is the actual size of the original painting; the one on the right is one-and-a-half times actual size.)
